Tough Abrasive, Smooth Results
3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding Film Disc 375L delivers a durable and flexible finish while offering outstanding tear resistance and consistent finish on a variety of substrates.
For woodworking applications the key is creating the perfect surface for accepting the final finish. 375L in medium grades contours to challenging work surfaces, delivering a superior finish while the load-resistant coating extends abrasive life. Lastly, for paint finishing application, 375L is designed to deliver a superb, uniform finish on plastics and clear coat technologies commonly used in the transportation industry. Regardless of application, the durable film backing and premium mineral extend the abrasive life and help improve overall productivity.
Open Coat Construction Reduces Likelihood of Loading
The open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat mineral of the same grade, and the load-resistant coating reduces clogging, making this a good choice for woodworking and other applications where loading markedly hinders performance. Additionally, it is resin-bonded for reliable performance under high heat and pressure.
Here’s how it works: open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate sawdust and other sanding debris, which prevents clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating also allows the film to continue cutting even when sanding soft woods, paints, and other materials that would otherwise, clog and hinder sanding ability. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade. All of this adds up to increased productivity and reduced material consumption.
The Benefits of Film Backing
Film-backings can’t be beat; they offer superb tear resistance and a consistent finish, making them an excellent option when working on paint, e-coats, primers, gel coats, glass, acrylics, wood and solid surface material. Anywhere you need the perfect finish every time, film is the best choice.
The Hookit™ Advantage
The 3M™ Hookit™ hook-and-loop feature makes disc attachment, removal and re-attachment easy and facilitates use and re-use of the disc for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit disc pads have J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Hookit disc pads grip the brushed nylon loop backings of Hookit discs and provide a finer finish than do adhesive backed discs. The Hookit system is designed for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt or flying debris. This disc pad can also be used with hook-and-loop discs from other manufacturers.
