Flexible Sanding Cloth
3M™ Cloth Sheet 202DZ is best suited for wood or metal sanding and finishing thanks to its durability and fast cutting abrasive material. Its light, J-weight cotton cloth backing provides smooth operation and flexibility which can conform to the shape of contoured parts for consistent finishing. The abrasive side features an open coat for consistent finishing.
Aluminum Oxide Abrasive
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used for sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials in metal and woodworking.
Heat and Load Resistant
3M™ Cloth Sheet 202DZ also uses a resin bonding which is specially designed to resist thermal deterioration, which can occur during sanding. This bond is very tough and excellent for precision work on hard and soft surfaces. This also allows for faster sanding and a higher cut rate. This cloth also features an anti-static treatment and open coat construction. Open coat construction leaves space between the abrasive grains to help evacuate sawdust and other sanding debris and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. This allows the sheet to continue cutting even when sanding materials that would otherwise clog the grain and hinder sanding ability.
