The Difference Is in the Construction

One of the characteristics that makes 3M™ Trizact™ PSA Film Roll 268XA a standout among our other 268XA products is that it has a pressure sensitive adhesive backing. Equipped with this attachment, attaching 268XA to backup pads and hand blocks becomes as easy as adhering a sticker. By applying a little pressure, operators have an abrasive that’s ready to use, enhancing overall productivity and throughput.

3M™ Trizact™ PSA Film Roll 268XA also has a polyester backing, which makes it water resistant. As 268XA is commonly used for applications like wet sanding, it’s helpful to have an abrasive that can be run wet or dry. Moreover, using a lubricant like water can help wash away excess debris, preventing it from discoloring the substrate. While it may be run damp, one of the benefits of the roll is that it requires little water for effective results.

As a roll, 268XA can be cut and shaped to meet project dimensions; the converted form gives operators an added level of flexibility.

3M™ Trizact™ PSA Film Roll 268XA uses proprietary 3M microreplication technology, encapsulating aluminum oxide mineral inside tiny pyramids. These pyramids are evenly distributed over a polyester backing. While conventionally coated abrasives have erratically spaced mineral, Trizact™ abrasives focus on uniformity. As pyramids wear, fresh, sharp mineral is exposed to produce a consistent cut and a predictable, fine finish.

Great Versatility

3M™ Trizact™ PSA Film Roll 268XA is available in a range of grades so operators can choose the right grade for their unique application; the lower the A-grade, the finer the grade. So, operators should select a smaller grade, like A5, for a fine finish and a larger grade, like A35, for a coarser finish. Rolls are color-coded by grade to reduce the risk of mistakenly selecting the wrong grade in a sequence.

PSA Attachment

The pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) on the back of 3M™ Trizact™ PSA Film Roll 268XA helps facilitate easy tool attachment; it's as simple as pressing on a sticker. The PSA backing adheres firmly to a backup pad when light pressure is applied, and it can be peeled off just as easily, leaving a clean surface for the next abrasive in the sequence. With only a thin layer of adhesive standing between the abrasive and the backup pad, power is transmitted directly to the workpiece surface – with few barriers inhibiting its ability to sand aggressively. PSA abrasives offer heightened force and vigor when it comes to sanding the substrate.
