Flap Wheel Engineering
3M™ Flap Wheel 341D is engineered by arranging hundreds of tightly, evenly packed, overlapping abrasive cloth flaps radially around a hub. Each flexible flap on 3M™ Flap Wheel 341D is covered with sharp-cutting aluminum oxide mineral bonded with resin. Mounted to a die grinder or flexible shaft tool, the flaps rotate centrifugally making continuous contact with the workpiece. As the flap wears away, new abrasive grain is exposed and the wheel continues to cut.
The flexible nature of the flaps make it highly conformable to surface contours and irregularities. Flap wheels are far less likely to gouge or mar the work surface. And the forgiving quality of this abrasive wheel allows even inexperienced operators to obtain professional results.
Recommended Applications
The 341D flap wheel is typically used on a die grinder to set a linear finish or set a scratch on stainless steel and other substrates. It is also used to deburr tube or pipe internal and outer diameters and for small or hard-to-reach areas where larger flap wheels are too big or cumbersome.
