The shape of the wheel is determined by the shape, size, and accessibility of the part to be ground. When grinding peripheral cutters, cup wheels are used. Dish wheels are best for formed cutters.
WA White Premium Aluminum Oxide
Used when a good cutting action is needed on all steels. When a sharp corner or radius must be held, use fine grits combined with J 0r K hardness.
GC Green Silicon Carbide
Used for non-ferrous metals such as cemented materials.
AS3 Ceramic
Our AS3 wheels feature a 30% advanced Cubitron 321 ceramic content combined with a 20% premium pink aluminum oxide grain and 50% white aluminum oxide grain that delivers cooler cuts on harder surfaces for maximum performance and life. This unique combination continually fractures, producing sharp new grinding points. Best used when heavy stock removal is necessary. Ceramic wheels are designed to grind without burn and hold form much better. They are excellent for corner and form holding applications. They exceed standard wheels when grinding materials 50 Rockenell C and harder. They're ideal for hardened tool steels, sprayed metal coatings, Iconel, Waspalloy, Hastalloy, Stellite and other high-temp alloys. In tool room applications, the AS3 will yield better results in dry grinding than conventional abrasives. They allow heavier downfeeds and faster traverse rates. Dressing is only required to restore the shape of the wheel. ISO 9002 certified quality.

AA Abrasives vitrified mounted points are made from premium pink aluminum oxide grain for fast cutting and clean finishing. They are precise dimensions, balanced and securely mounted to 1/4" or 1/8" steel shanks. Applications include deburring, tool sharpening, finishing cavities and removing mold marks and parting lines.
